Morgan Harper Nichols said it best when she said, "How liberating it is to pursue wholeness instead of perfection."
Every woman deserves to be celebrated and empowered for who she is. Kaasiḏa is about your innate beauty, uniqueness and power. Kaasiḏa is for women who come to terms with who they are early and those who need more time. As a woman, I understand the constant struggle of self-discovery - so if you're not quite there yet, please know that this is a journey. We're in this together, every step of the way.
Knowing and accepting our strengths and weaknesses is the first step to self-love. Once we have total awareness of who we are, we can focus on embracing it all. And that's when the magic begins!
I want every woman to feel her truest self when she wears Kaasiḏa. Remember, we define the clothes we wear, not the other way around.
If you are ready to be your authentic self, despite all the noise outside about what we should and should not be and do, it would be my honour to dress you in Kaasiḏa.
Welcome to the world of women’s fashion that respects your identity, not defines it.
The name Kaasiḏa comes from the Persian/Hindi word kashidakari, which means needlework or embroidery. Kaasiḏa, previously known as Kaari, aims to bring you a flavour of a two-century-old slow craft of delicate hand-embroidery, known as Chikankari, from the town of Lucknow in Northern India.
When founder Akanksha moved from India (where she was born and raised) to Australia in 2016, she brought along her love for Chikankari. That love sparked the idea of Kaasiḏa for the first time in 2017. As she researched and understood fashion, fabric, and everything in between, it became evident that Kaasiḏa will be as much about sustainability and ethics as Chikankari.
Based in Perth, Kaasiḏa is an Australian sustainable and conscious fashion brand founded in 2022. Kaasiḏa blends the Indian heritage of textile and handcrafted embroidery with modern, effortless fashion. Embodying art and mindfulness, Kaasiḏa focuses on creating timeless designs that are elegant, effortless and enduring.
Kaasiḏa aims to create an inclusive community of conscious consumers by offering complete transparency into:
● What is in your clothes, and
● Who made your clothes
Kaasiḏa's garments are made with 100% organic fabrics. We also practice small batch manufacturing and upcycling to reduce waste from over production.
The embroidery on Kaasiḏa's garments is handcrafted by the artisans of India, who spend anywhere between 15 and 45 days on one ensemble.
Kaasiḏa's garments are manufactured by a SEDEX-audited ethical clothing manufacturer who ensure that its workers are paid fairly and have a healthy and hygienic working condition.
